listen to Hooton Tennis Club’s “Bad Dream (Breakdown on St George’s Mount)” from their new LP

Hooton Tennis Club‘s new album, Big Box of Chocolates, will be out Friday, October 21. The Liverpool group continue to have one foot in ’90s U.S. indie rock and the other in ’90s Britpop. (It’s kinda like when Damon Albarn said Blur’s self-titled 1997 LP was influenced by Pavement, but HTC actually sound like what that conjured.) These guys have an easy way with big hooks, make a good case for “whoa-ohs,” and are lyrically clever without trying too hard.

We’ve got the premiere of “Bad Dream (Breakdown on St George’s Mount),” a sad tale of feeling inadequate that has all their best qualities on display. You can stream it, and watch the video for first single “Katy-Anne Bellis,” below.

This weekend, Hooton Tennis Club begin a month-long tour of the UK and Europe. All dates are listed below.
