listen to Mavis Staples' Justin Vernon-penned "Dedicated"

This week, soul veteran Mavis Staples releases her new album Livin’ On A High Note (via ANTI-), which ha songs written by a talented cast of younger artists. She just debuted “Dedicated,” written by Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon with help from M Ward (who also produced the album). Listen below (via Pitchfork).

Mavis is also on board for Eaux Claires Music & Arts Festival, which is curated by Justin Vernon and The National’s Aaron Dessner, and also includes Bon Iver, James Blake, an all-star Grateful Dead tribute and more. Bon Iver and James Blake are rumored to collaborate at it, and both are working on new music too. If you haven’t heard it yet, you can stream James Blake’s newest single “Modern Soul” below.
