Old Wounds

NJ metallic hardcore crushers Old Wounds are releasing the followup to 2013’s From Where We Came Is Where We’ll Rest LP and 2014’s Death Projection EP with their sophomore full length this year. It’s called The Suffering Spirit, and comes out June 30 via Good Fight Music. We’ve got the premiere of the new single “Rest In Piss,” which has just about everything you want from this kind of song: heavy dissonant riffs, pissed-off screams, a slowed-down spoken word interlude; the works. It was recorded, mixed and mastered by Andreas Magnusson (whose credits include The Black Dahlia Murder, Hot Cross and more), who gives them an ear-shattering tone that’s super clear but not at all overproduced. Listen to the song and check out the album tracklist below. That’s the artwork above (made by drummer Brandon Gallagher).

Old Wounds are also touring the Northeast with Vein the week that the new record comes out. The tour kicks off in Philly, then hits New Haven, Asbury Park and more, before wrapping up in Brooklyn. The Brooklyn show happens July 3 at Saint Vitus with more bands TBA. UPDATE: The show is now at Grand Victory with Go Deep and Icarus. Tickets are on sale.
