listen to Pernice Brothers’ first album in nine years (ft. Neko Case & more)
Pernice Brothers‘ Spread the Feeling, their first album in nine years, is out today. Joe Pernice’s way with hooky, literate pop has not diminished in the last decade, and the record is full of the group’s signature honeyed harmonies that color earwom melodies influenced by Big Star, Brian Wilson, The Smiths, New Order, Laurel Canyon folk-rock, Bakersfield country and more. The album features Neko Case on “The Devil and The Jinn” and also has appearances by Pete Yorn and Ric Menck (Velvet Crush). Stream the whole thing below.
