Live Nation-booked "Pier 17 Rooftop Concert Series" coming to Seaport District

The Seaport is getting a new 3,400-capacity, 1.5-acre venue this August. Live Nation will book the open-air venue that will sit atop of the new Seaport District Pier 17 mall, offering views of the Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty, in addition to whatever artist you’re there to see. The new venue, which is one pier over from the former Seaport Music Festival stage (damaged by Hurricane Sandy), features a design inspired by the wings of potato beetles. Live Nation will announce the lineup and schedule of the inaugural Seaport District’s Rooftop Concert Series on May 7.

The mall will also house new restaurants from chefs Andrew Carmellini and David Chang, a new a 50,000 square foot food hall curated by chef/restaurateur Jean-Georges Vongerichten, ESPN’s new studios, and more.

Here’s another mock-up of what it’s going to look like.
