Lollapalooza 2017 Friday pics & video (Run the Jewels, Ryan Adams, more)

After a rocky start on Thursday that included a weather evacuation to end the night and Liam Gallagher walking off his set 20 minutes in, Friday at Lollapalooza went much more smoothly. One of the day’s highlights was Run the Jewels’ set to a packed, enthusiastic crowd. The duo invited a fan, Jacob Powell, onstage to rap after seeing his sign, which read “Let Me Rap ‘Legend Has It.'” Watch video of that below, as well as the poignant moment when Run the Jewels dedicated their final song, “Down,” to Chester Bennington.

We skipped The Killers’ headlining set in favor of catching blink-182 (we also caught their intimate Lollapalooza aftershow) and Crystal Castles, but their set included a nod to Muse’s cut-off set the previous night with a cover of “Starlight,” and a Smashing Pumpkins cover, “Disarm.” Watch video of those covers below.

Day two at Lollapalooza also included a surprise “pop-up set” from Vic Mensa, an LCD Soundsystem ice cream truck, and sets from Little Dragon, Ryan Adams, Bishop Briggs, Tegan & Sara, Mura Masa, The Lemon Twigs, Cloud Nothings, PUP, and more. Check out pics from the day in the gallery above.

Lollapalooza continues through the weekend, and if you’re not there, you can stream some sets. Catch up on Thursday at the festival HERE, and stay tuned for more.
