Lovers & Friends Fest day 2 2020

Lovers & Friends Fest adds 2nd date, Lil Kim still on the poster

Strangely controversial but ultimately legitimate Los Angeles festival Lovers & Friends added a second day to its 2020 edition. Originally scheduled for Saturday, May 9, the additional day happens on Friday, May 8, and features the much of the same lineup heavy on throwback rap and R&B from the late ’90s and early ’00s, including Lauryn Hill, “Yeah!” collaborators Usher, Ludacris, and Lil Jon, TLC, Jhene Aiko, Summer Walker, Nelly, Sean Paul, T-Pain, Brandy, Ja Rule & Fat Joe, SWV, Saweetie, Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, Dru Hill, 112, Mario, Twista, Eve, Trina, Tweet, Amerie, Mase, Cam’ron, Mike Jones, Montell Jordan, Umi, Jon B, Baby Bash, Frankie J, Nina Sky, and sounds by Soulection. There have also been a few lineup changes: Megan Thee Stallion, Next, Monica and Ginuwine will only perform on May 9, and Doja Cat, Akon, Donell Jones and Mya have been added to May 8. Tickets for both dates are on sale now.

In a now-deleted Instagram story, Lil Kim called Lovers & Friends fest “fake” shortly after it was announced, but she’s still on the lineup for both days, although she’s moved up a few lines; she was originally on the fifth line, and now she’s moved up to the third. Festival producer Goldenvoice and Snoop Dogg, who is one of its bookers, say the fest is “100% confirmed” despite a few inconsistencies.
