Luna wrapped up their fall tour with two NYC-area shows: NJ’s WFMU Monty Hall on Friday (11/17) and Brooklyn Steel on Saturday (11/18). With one of their two new records this year being all covers, many of those songs featured in their sets, including Mercury Rev’s “Car Wash Hair,” The Cure’s “Fire in Cairo,” and Mink DeVille’s “Let Me Dream if I Want To.” At Brooklyn Steel, they even covered “Tugboat” by frontman Dean Wareham’s old band Galaxie 500. Luna also played lots of originals, too, with “Malibu Love Nest,” “Friendly Advice” and “I Want Everything” played at both shows. There were lots of differences between the two shows’ setlists, too, and you can check those out below and pics from Monty Hall are in the gallery above. Chris Forsyth and the Solar Motel Band opened both nights.
