Lush officially reuniting, announce first show in nearly 20 years ++ reissues and box set

Lush

As hinted, UK dreampop band Lush are reuniting to play their first shows in nearly 20 years. Here’s the scoop from the band’s Facebook:

We’ve been away for ages and ages, but we’re really excited to announce that we’re finally ready to reform as Lush. For all the fans who have been pestering us to do this: thanks so much for your patience and support! We wish it could have been sooner but, for many years, it was just too painful to contemplate without Chris, and then all kinds of life-changing commitments made it impossible. Now, at last, the three of us are in the right place at the right time to play music together again.

The first confirmed show will be at London’s Roundhouse on May 6, 2016. Former Elastica drummer Justin Welch will be behind the kit. Tickets for that show go on sale Wednesday, September 30.

In other news: 4AD will be reissuing the Lush best-of compilation, Ciao!, on vinyl and a comprehensive box set, titled Chorus, of all their releases, plus rarities, sessions and demos.
