M83 then laid the new album on thick with songs “Lazer Gun,” “For The Kids”, “Wait” and “Go.” Vocalist Mai Lan is a featured collaborator on “Lazer Gun” and succeeds in adding a healthy dose of sexiness along with her call-and-response. M83 closed their set with fan favorites “Wait”, possibly one of the most beautiful and emotional songs written in the last decade, and “Midnight City” sounded better live than any recording, making the crowd nearly riotous, while “Echoes of Mine” and “Outro” capped off the set. -[Glide Magazine]

M83 have just started their tour in support of their brand new album Junk. Their last of three Texas shows was at Stubb’s in Austin on April 10 with Portland’s arch synth poppers YACHT opening. While not everyone is sold on the new album, M83 didn’t skimp on the jams from Hurry Up We’re Dreaming and other earlier LPs. Setlist is below.

You can catch M83 in NYC at Governors Ball. YACHT will be off the tour by that point but the band will play NYC on their way to Moogfest, for a show happening May 5 at Brooklyn Bowl. Tickets for Brooklyn Bowl go on sale Friday (4/15) at noon.
