Madonna announces intimate US shows (including 7 nights at BAM)

UPDATE: Madonna added even more intimate shows to her Madame X tour.

Madonna has announced intimate U.S. shows supporting her upcoming album Madame X, going down in NYC, Chicago, and LA this late summer/fall. She’s doing seven nights at NYC’s BAM Howard Gilman Opera House in September, four nights at Chicago Theatre in October, and five nights at LA’s Wiltern in November.

You have to sign up via Verified Fan by Friday (5/10) at 11:59 PM ET for a chance to buy tickets. More details:

Fans will be able to select city and show preference plus their preferred price points prior to completing their request. By Fri, May 17, fans whose requests have been confirmed will be notified of fulfillment and informed of their ticket allocation(s) and corresponding show information. All fans will be notified even if we were unable to accommodate their request. Tickets will be fulfilled as Ticketmaster Secure Mobile Tickets. Every ticket purchased includes a CD of Madonna’s new release Madame X, in stores June 14. Event ticket limit is 4 per person.

Needless to say, these are very small shows for Madonna, who regularly headlines arenas, and tickets will most likely go very fast.

Madonna is also promising more 2019 shows TBA at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, the Boch Center Wang Theatre in Boston, The Met Philadelphia and at the Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theatre, and 2020 shows at the Coliseum in Lisbon, the Palladium in London and at the Grand Rex in Paris. Stay tuned and watch her tour announcement video below.

Madame X is out June 14 via Live Nation/Interscope/Maverick, and it features collaborations with Quavo of Migos, Swae Lee of Rae Sremmurd, and others. She recently released the singles “Medellín” (ft. Maluma) and “I Rise,” and you can check those out below.

Meanwhile, Madonna was in NYC over the weekend for the GLAAD Awards, where she received the Advocate for Change Award which was given to her by Anderson Cooper, Mykki Blanco and Rosie O’Donnell. “Why have I always fought for change? That’s a hard question to answer. It’s like trying to explain the importance of reading or the need to love. Growing up I always felt like an outsider, like I didn’t fit in. It wasn’t because I didn’t shave under my armpits, I just didn’t fit in, OK,” she said in her acceptance speech. “The first gay man I ever met was named Christopher Flynn. He was my ballet teacher in high school and he was the first person that believed in me, that made me feel special as a dancer, as an artist and as a human being. I know this sounds trivial and superficial, but he was the first man to tell me I was beautiful.” She went on to say that Flynn took her to her first gay club and encouraged her to leave Michigan and move to NYC.
