The talented, soulful singer/songwriter/bassist Mal Devisa was recently hospitalized just as she began working on her second album, and her mother launched a GoFundMe to help with her medical bills. All tour dates were cancelled, but it appears that Mal is doing better since new shows were recently announced.

So far she has two coming up: one in Ridgewood, Queens on June 7 at Trans-Pecos with Crosslegged and Little State (tickets), and one in New Hampshire on June 10 at Peterborough Unitarian Church with the very impressive lineup of Josephine Foster, Dredd Foole & MV, and Pigeons (tickets). Hopefully even more shows (and new music) are coming soon!

Crosslegged

If you’re going to the Trans-Pecos show, we also recommend showing up for Crosslegged (aka Keba Robinson). Keba makes lo-fi bedroom folk, and she really has one hell of a voice which separates her from the huge amount of artists making music like this. Listen to her great 2016 EP, Truly Truly, below. You can also catch Crosslegged in NYC tonight (5/31) at Brooklyn Bazaar opening for Told Slant (tickets).
