Malfunction releasing 'Fear of Failure' (stream it), touring with Terror, Code Orange & more (dates)

Buffalo, NY hardcore band Malfunction recently signed to Bridge 9 and they’ll release their first album for the label, Fear of Failure, this Friday (11/20) (pre-order). They recorded it with Jay Zubricky and had it mixed by Taylor Young (Code Orange, Nails, etc), and it pulls from the kind of hardcore/metalcore their hometown area of upstate NY has been churning out for the past two decades. It’s something you could picture coming out on Victory before that label went totally mall-core (they’ve got the chug of Earth Crisis’ “Firestorm” on track one, “Drained”). Malfunction change it up too, like when they go borderline post-rock on “Sonic.” It’s a good record, and the full stream premieres below.
The band are about to tour with Terror, Code Orange and Take Offense, and while there’s no NYC date, they’ll be nearby for a NJ show on December 5 at GameChangerWorld. That show has additional support from Blind Justice and Incendiary. Tickets are on sale.
