man died at Montebello Rockfest of suspected overdose
Montebello Rockfest is underway now in Montebello, Quebec, and according to CBC News (via Exclaim), a 25-year-old man has died of a suspected drug overdose at the festival. Not many details on the tragic event are known as of yet, but it was reported that the man suffered cardiac arrest around 8AM local time Friday morning. He was transported to the hospital via ambulance, where he was later pronounced dead. Local paramedics stated that the death “could be drug-related.”
This wasn’t the first medical emergency at this year’s fest; the man was among nine festivalgoers total who were hospitalized since the festival kicked off on Thursday (6/14), two of which were due to drug overdoses.
Montebello Rockfest continues through Saturday (6/16), with Weezer, Prophets of Rage, Jimmy Eat World, Rancid, and others.
