Prince

many Prince albums returning to Spotify & other streaming services on Sunday (here's the full list)

One of the true bummers of entering a world where streaming services are the go-to way to hear music, is that some artists and labels just flat-out refuse to have their music on there. (Or only put it on one service, maybe not the one you use.) One of the most famous artists to do this is the late Prince. Some good news though: his Warner Bros catalog will finally come to Spotify, Amazon and other streaming services this Sunday (2/12). That includes classic albums like 1999, Purple Rain, Around The World In A Day, Parade, Sign ‘O’ The Times, and more.

This is great news for anyone who doesn’t subscribe to TIDAL, the one streaming service Prince did have his music on. The same day that all these Prince albums hit all the streaming services, Prince will be honored with a tribute at the Grammys.

The New York Times also reports that Prince’s estate has made a deal with Universal Music Group involving the post-1995 albums that Prince released on his own NPG Records, and unreleased music from his vault. The exact terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but stay tuned for more info.

Prince’s backing band The Revolution are also touring this year.
