Marfa Myths 2019 lineup & tickets (Deerhunter, Khruangbin, more)

The 2019 edition of Marfa Myths, the annual multidisciplinary festival presented by Mexican Summer and Marfa Ballroom, happens April 25-28 in Marfa, TX. They’ve just announced the initial lineup which features a number of Texans, including headliners Khruangbin, Deerhunter, Cass McCombs, chopped and screwed pioneers OG Ron C & The Chopstars, folk singer Jess Williamson, producer Jon Bap, synth pioneer Annette Peacock, cult artist The Space Lady, Austin group Money Chicha, Tim Hecker & The Konoyo Ensemble, Swedish prog legends Träd, Gräs och Stenar, new wave / postpunk artist Vivien Goldman, Egyptian artist Nadah El Shazly, Emily A Sprague, comedians  Kate Berlant and John Early and more, with still more to be announced. will perform. More artists will be announced in early 2019.

This year’s Marfa Myths Musicians in Residence are Drugdealer (aka Michael Collins) and Tim Presley (White Fence, Drinks); while Connan Mockasin will be the Painter in Residence; Cate Le Bon will be the Woodworker in Residence; and Natalie Anne Howard is the Visual Artist in Residence.

Deerhunter and Cate Le Bon were the 2018 Musicians in Residence and the sessions they recorded then are the basis for Deerhunter’s forthcoming album.
