Margo Price shares "Hands of Time," playing SXSW including a FREE BV show

Nashville country singer Margo Price releases her debut album Midwest Farmer’s Daughter later this month (3/25) via Jack White’s Third Man Records, and as Stereogum points out, she just put out a new song from it. You already heard “Hurtin’ (On The Bottle),” a rollicking song (but not without some underlying sadness) that sounded like a refreshing update on mid-’60s country. “Hands of Time,” the six-minute album opener, shows another side of her. A good country singer is usually a good storyteller, and Margo proves on this song that she absolutely is. It’s a first-person life narrative with some devastating hardships, including the death of her child. Margo keeps you hanging on to every single word and iIt’s so detailed and engaging that sometimes you forget you’re actually listening to a song. It’s not every day you come across someone this talented and with this much to say.

Margo is also touring soon, including a trip to Austin for SXSW. One of her shows there is the FREE BrooklynVegan SXSW day party at Cheer Up Charlies on Saturday March 19.
