Marika Hackman announces new LP and tour, shares "i'm not where you are"

UK artist Marika Hackman has announced Any Human Friend, her third album and second for Sub Pop, which will be out August 9 (pre-order). She co-produced the album with David Wrench of audiobooks (who has worked with everyone from Frank Ocean and Let’s Eat Grandma to Julian Cope) and it finds her adding more synthesizers — while her ethereal voice and provocative lyrics remain a constant. “This whole record is me diving into myself and peeling back the skin further and further, exposing myself in quite a big way. It can be quite sexual,” Hackman says. “It’s blunt, but not offensive. It’s mischievous.”  Check out new single “i’m not where you are,” and its Will Hooper-directed video, below.

Marika has also just announced a North American fall tour which kicks off October 11 in Atlanta, wraps up November 6 in Los Angeles and hits most major cities in between.
