Maroon 5 playing 2019 Super Bowl Halftime Show (ugh)

You won’t really find any football fans at BrooklynVegan, but we’re always up for a party and the Super Bowl Halftime Show (and commercials) usually gives us a reason to look up at the screen, but maybe this is the year we just don’t even bother. The Halftime Show is never that great anyway (unless Beyonce or Prince is involved), and it was revealed today by Variety that the 2019 performers will be Maroon 5, who are probably the least appealing act booked since… ever? Hopefully they’ll at least bring out Cardi B or Kendrick Lamar, or — especially since it’s happening in Atlanta — Future.

Super Bowl LIII happens on February 3, 2019 and airs on CBS.
