Mastodon & Dinosaur Jr add more dates to tour

Sludge metal staples Mastodon are doing tours with not one but two classic alternative bands this year. They’re on the road with Primus as we speak, and they’re heading out with Dinosaur Jr in September. When it was first announced, there were no NYC-area dates on the tour with Dinosaur Jr, but now that Mastodon played Asbury Park and Coney Island with Primus over the weekend, that has changed.
Mastodon and Dino Jr will hit Port Chester, NY’s Capitol Theatre on September 20 with local support from Netherlands, and they also added a Maryland date to the tour happening September 21 at The Fillmore Silver Spring. Tickets for the Cap and the Fillmore go on sale Friday (6/8) at noon and 10 AM, respectively, and there’s a BrooklynVegan presale starting Tuesday (6/5) at 10 AM local for both shows.
