Matt Bachmann (Mega Bog) releasing new LP, touring (NYC w/ Lisa/Liza & Ed Askew)
Matt Bachmann has played in Mega Bog, Hand Habits, and other bands, and released music solo under the name Big Eater, but this year he officially retired that moniker and is now solely releasing music under his own name. His new album, Unconditional Love, comes out November 2 via Owen Ashworth’s Orindal Records (pre-order physical or digital), and it features guest vocals by Mega Bog leader Erin Birgy, and drums, trumpet, trombone and signal processing by former Mega Bog member Derek Baron. We’re premiering the new song “To Be In Love,” which is a very pretty dose of atmospheric bedroom pop led by Matt’s angelic falsetto. Listen below.
Matt is also touring, including a few NYC shows. He plays Trans-Pecos tonight (9/18) with Hoop, Harmony Tividad (of Girlpool), and Plutoness (tickets); Wonders of Nature on 9/27 with Ora Cogan (more info); and Wonders of Nature on 11/7 with Orindal labelmates Lisa/Liza and folk legend Ed Askew (more info).
