Matt Pond PA has a new animated video for "In Winter," touring

Matt Pond PA has released two albums in the past two years, 2016’s Winter Lives and 2017’s Still Summer, both released on his own 131 Records. He’s got a new video for “In Winter” off Winter Lives. It’s an animated video made by Joy + Noelle that tells a trippy, seasonal love story that ultimately has a sad ending. Here’s what Matt tells us about the clip:

This beautifully animated short film is one of those never-ending heart-hurting stories that’s been my main sidekick through my strange and amazing short life. The kind that gets you every time the sun rears its head, every time you breathe a little too deep. Njord and Skadi are dichotomous companions. They find love together, but not its home. And ultimately, despite their best attempts, neither is able to exist in the other’s world.

Matt’s sentimental song is the perfect musical backdrop for the video, which premieres below.

Matt Pond PA also has a December East Coast tour, including a show in Zone One at new Brooklyn venue Elsewhere on December 15. Tickets for that show will be on sale soon. He also plays BSP Kingston the next night. All dates are listed below.
