Mazzy Star going back in the studio; Colm O Ciosoig confirms new MBV in the works

Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions just wrapped up their North American tour, which hit NYC at Brooklyn Steel earlier this month. In an interview with the band on WBUR, Hope was asked if her other group, Mazzy Star, had anything in the works. Hope said “We do plan on going into the studio, but we don’t have any dates.” The band’s last record was 2013’s Seasons of Your Day. Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, Hope’s Warm Inventions bandmate, Colm Ó Cíosóig, confirmed the rumors that his other band, My Bloody Valentine, are working on a new record. “I’ve been working on that preceding this tour,” he told WBUR in the same article, adding “I’m going to go back and work on that once the tour is done. It’s in the making.” Meanwhile, those long-planned all-analog vinyl remasters of MBV’s first two albums will be out in January.

At the Warm Inventions show at Brooklyn Steel, when Hope was taking a long time to come back for the encore, someone yelled to Colm, “play some My Bloody Valentine,” to which he, and the audience, laughed.
