MC50 brought the ‘Kick Out the Jams’ 50th anniversary' to Irving Plaza (pics, setlist)

Wayne Kramer brought his “Kick Out the Jams’ 50th anniversary tour” to NYC on Monday (9/17) at Irving Plaza. He and his all-star MC50 band — guitarist Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), drummer Brendan Canty (Fugazi), bassist Billy Gould (Faith No More), and frontman Marcus Durant (Zen Guerrilla) — did indeed kick out the MC5 jams as Wayne preened, posed, wind-milled his guitar, postured, and seemed to be having the time of his life. As you would with a band like that backing you. The Detroit Cobras were a fitting opener and pictures from Irving Plaza are in the gallery above. Setlist and a few fan-shot videos are below.
