Melvins covered Butthole Surfers in Chicago, and everyone likes free ice cream


You may have heard about the last minute Melvins show at Humboldt Park in Chicago? Turns out the appearance was part of an AV Undercover piece that had the trio perform “Graveyard” by Butthole Surfers in front of a parked ice cream truck. Video is in this post. Make sure and watch the video, which shows a swarm of kids clamoring for free ice cream and completely indifferent to the band around them. The song breaks down into cacophony, which is actually the perfect soundtrack to the sugar-fueled feeding frenzy around them. Knowing the Melvins and their sense of humor, I am sure this is something they are very happy about.

Melvins are readying their new LP, Tres Cabrones, with original drummer Mike Dillard, and recently passed through NYC at House of Vans.
