Indie for the Holidays

Melvins, Los Campesinos! & more on new Amazon indie holiday music comp

We’re fully in holiday season, and that means tons of holiday music. One of the compilations that the alternative rock fan may be looking forward to is Amazon’s Indie For the Holidays playlist, which returns this year after a solid outing in 2015. Amazon has already shared a couple of the songs from this year’s edition. It’s out today on Prime Music, and it features songs by The Album Leaf, Dandy Warhols, Tennis, Chris Staples, and more.

Even if you don’t have Amazon Prime, you can stream the contributions from the Melvins and Los Campesinos! right now.

The Melvins contribute a cover of the always-scary “Carol of the Bells,” which Buzzo and company supply with more than enough grandiosity and menace. The Los Camepsinos! song comes from their 2014 Christmas EP. It’s called “When Christmas Comes (Boxing Day Version).”

Proceeds from the EP go to the Women’s Aid Christmas Appeal. Los Campesinos! also have an album and tour on the way, and they hit NYC at Warsaw on March 10 with Crying. Tickets for that are on sale now.
