Melvins Tour Diary (part 2): Dale working Warsaw's bistro, James Gang's Jim Fox, more

The Melvins are on tour now supporting their new album Pinkus Abortion Technician, their first with the lineup of Buzz Osborne, Dale Crover, and two bassists: Jeff Pinkus (Butthole Surfers) and Steve McDonald (Redd Kross). The band is keeping a tour diary with photos as they tour, and we’re hosting that diary here on BrooklynVegan. The first installment is HERE and the second tour diary installment is in the gallery above.

The second installment covers their recent Brooklyn show at Warsaw, and at that one, Dale worked the bistro at the venue. “Most of the concert goers didn’t recognize him and probably thought he was yet another asshole bastard they had to deal with. That’s how it goes in Brooklyn,” Buzz wrote. This installment also covers the Cleveland show, where Jim Fox of The James Gang (whose “Stop” the Melvins cover as a medley with the Butthole Surfers’ “Moving To Florida” on their new album) came to the show and took a pic with the band. “What a nice guy! He told us great stories and put up with our annoying questions while remaining a perfect gentleman. Class act!,” said Buzz.

See much more in the gallery above(complete with captions from Buzz) and stay tuned for future installments of the tour diary. The Melvins will be on the road through August, including an LA show with Boris. All remaining dates are listed below.

We’ve also got a set of pictures from the Brooklyn show, and those are in the gallery below (including shots of openers All Souls, who have members of Totoimoshi, The Desert Sessions, and Black Elk).
