members of Blondie, MC5, Replacements, Heartbreakers playing L.A.M.F at Stephen Saban benefit

’80s NYC columnist Stephen Saban was sadly diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year, and a GoFundMe campaign was launched by his daughter. Around the same time, the NY Times ran a profile where they called him “a scene-maker and star-maker in the era of Madonna, Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat, when partying was a form of performance art.”

Now Saban, age 70, will be honored by some punk icons at a NYC show. Blondie’s Clem Burke, The Replacements’ Tommy Stinson, Johnny Thunders & the Heartbreakers’ Walter Lure, and MC5’s Wayne Kramer will join forces to perform the Heartbreakers’ sole album L.A.M.F. in full at The Marlin Room at Webster Hall on November 15. The show will also have special guest appearances by NYC post-punks Bush Tetras, Patti Smith Group’s Lenny Kaye, and Mudd Clubb regular Marilyn. Tickets are on sale now and proceeds benefit Stephen Saban.

UPDATE: They also added two Bowery Electric shows the next night (11/6), one at 8 PM and one at 10 PM.
