members of R.E.M., Pavement, Posies, The Both & more helping complete final Game Theory LP (fund the Kickstarter)

We lost Scott Miller (Game Theory/Loud Family) in 2013. and at the time he was working on a new album, to be under the Game Theory name, titled Supercalifragile. Miller’s wife, Krtstine, has enlisted some of Scott’s friends to help finish the album, with Posies’ Ken Stringfellow producing. Also appearing on the record: Jon Auer (The Posies), Peter Buck (R.E.M.), Doug Gillard (Guided By Voices, Nada Surf), Nina Gordon (Veruca Salt), Scott Kannberg (Spiral Stairs), Ted Leo, Aimee Mann, and Will Sheff (Okkervil River). Many of Game Thoery’s original members — including Gil Ray and Donnette Thayer — are on it as well. The album will be mixed by Mitch Easter who produced many of Game Theory’s classic ’80s albums.

There’s a Kickstarter for the album, raising money to finish the record which is currently halfway to its $20,000 goal.

In other news, Omnivore Recordings reissued much of Game Theory’s catalogue earlier this year, including the classic 1987 double LP Lolita Nation.
