Montreal dream pop band Men I Trust are on tour now, having recently stopped in Austin for SXSW, where one of their shows was BrooklynVegan and Margin Walker’s Lost Weekend 2 day party (pics). Their dreamy, featherlight sound was the perfect fit for an outdoor stage in hot sunny Austin, but surely it’ll be just as great inside at night in still-slushy NYC, where they currently are.

They played their first of two sold-out shows here at Mercury Lounge last night (3/22). That one was with Australia’s Hatchie (who we wrote about HERE), which seems like it was a perfect pairing. Did you go? How was it?

Tonight (3/23), Men I Trust play Baby’s All Right and tonight’s opener is Brooklyn band Barrie, who are also a perfect fit for Men I Trust. The band is fronted by Barrie Lindsay (fka Grammar), and they recently released their debut single “Canyons,” which is a very enjoyable dose of dreamy synthpop. You also may have recently caught them at Baby’s in February opening for NADINE, another group that Barrie have a lot of common stylistic ground with. Watch the “Canyons” video below.

Men I Trust have a few remaining North American shows after tonight, and they head to Europe in May. Updated dates are listed HERE.
