MEN

MEN, the post-Le Tigre project of JD Samson, are set to follow to their 2011 debut LP, Talk About Body, with a new album, Labor, on October 22. They’re self-releasing the album, and it will be available digitally on their bandcamp and on iTunes. There’s also a limited vinyl pressing. Four of the album’s tracks — “All The Way Thru,” “Making Art,” “Let Them Out Or Let Me In” and “Make Him Pay” — are currently available online, and from the sound of them, JD Samon’s knack for huge melodies and piercing dancepunk hasn’t gone anywhere. They can be streamed, along with the album artwork and tracklist, below.

MEN will celebrate their new album with a release show in their hometown on October 26 at Union Pool. Opening the show is Beverly (who count Frankie Rose as a member), and Amber Valentine DJs. Tickets for that show are on sale now.

Meanwhile, JD Samson and Amber Valentine will be at that same venue to DJ even sooner for a PAT 666 party in Union Pool’s back room on 10/10 with Sparber and HiFi Sean. PAT is JD Samson’s “new dance party for anyone from anywhere wearing anything and loving whoever they want. Video screens with video art. Amazing DJ’s and people willing to let go. PAT is everybody mixed up together.”

Meanwhile, JD’s former Le Tigre bandmate Kathleen Hanna‘s band The Julie Ruin play their next NYC show on October 25 at Music Hall of Williamsburg (sold out).
