Merchandise‘s 4AD debut will be out in about a month (8/25) and the band have just released a video for new single “Enemy.” Directed by Tim Saccenti (who also took the band’s press shot, above), the video pays homage to the iconic work of Stan Brakhage, Kenneth Anger and William Eggleston. You can watch that below.

The band were in NYC not so long ago and have just announced an extensive fall tour, for most of which they’ll be joined by Danish quartet Lower whose new album Seek Warmer Climes came out last month and is certainly in the same melo-romantic postpunk world as Merchandise. (They were in NYC recently too.) That combo hits NYC on October 14 at Music Hall of Williamsburg. Tickets to that show go on sale Friday (7/18) at noon with an AmEx presale beginning Wednesday (7/16) at noon.

The MHOW show (and a few other dates) is also with Italian duo Ninos Du Brasil whose new percussion-intensive record, Novos Mistérios, came out back in April via Dominick Fernow’s Hospital Productions label. You can stream a track and watch a video from that below. Also below is a Rdio mix Lower made of songs they were listening to while recording the new album.
