Metal tours announced: Every Time I Die, GWAR, Witch Taint, Obituary/Abbath, Fister, Glassing, Brutus, more

Tons of shows get announced every week, and it can be hard to keep up. Here are all the heavy music (metal, hardcore & more) tours, shows & fests that we posted on BV this week, and some new ones too…

WITCH TAINT (with very special guests)

Witch Taint, “the most extremely extreme Norwegian black metal band from Indiana ever basically and you can ask anyone,” are playing their 2nd-ever full band show at Brooklyn metal mainstay Saint Vitus on Saturday night (6/29). As if I haven’t said enough, for this special show they have confirmed that both Mike Hickey from Venom AND Ross the Boss from Manowar will join them for some guitar solos. Miss this at your own risk. Eternal Black and Mutant Scum open the show. Witch Taint have no other upcoming dates at the moment. Book plane tickets if you need to.

GWAR / SACRED REICH / TOXIC HOLOCAUST

GWAR announced the “Use Your Collusion” tour for this fall with killer support from back-in-action thrash vets Sacred Reich (who are prepping their first album in 20+ years) and Toxic Holocaust.

OBITUARY / ABBATH / MIDNIGHT / DEVIL MASTER

This sick four band bill will trek across North America this fall.

GLASSING (with GIFTS FROM ENOLA & more)

Not only have rising post-hardcore band Florida Man been busy with a new album and tour this year, their old band Gifts From Enola are briefly reuniting and playing a U.S. one-off at Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus on July 6 with Gates and Constants. That show recently got even more appealing with the addition of rising blackened post-hardcore band Glassing, whose very solid new album Spotted Horse came out on Brutal Panda earlier this year. For Glassing, that show falls right in the middle of their previously announced tour, including another Brooklyn show that same night at Brooklyn Bazaar Basement (7/6) with Skull Kits. All dates here.

ZAKK SABBATH / POWER OF THE RIFF

Ozzy guitarist Zakk Wylde’s Black Sabbath tribute band Zack Sabbath’s previously announced tour with comedian Don Jamieson (Warsaw in Brooklyn included), has been expanded a day, and will now end at the Fonda Theatre in LA on August 31st as part of a 4 band bill that is this year’s Power of the Riff fest. Fu Manchu, The Wraith, and Entry are the other three bands on the LA bill, and tickets are on sale now. All Zakk Sabbath dates here. Zakk’s band Black Label Society are also touring with The Black Dahlia Murder.

EVERY TIME I DIE

Buffalo metalcore vets Every Time I Die are in the midst of their tour with Coheed & Cambria and Mastodon, and like last year, they’re coming to NYC in the fall for a few Rocks Off cruises (September 25-27). All dates and tickets here.

FISTER / SEA OF BONES

St. Louis doom trio Fister have been going strong for a decade now, and they’ve got a busy summer ahead of them. They’ll be continuing to support last year’s No Spirit Within on a tour, including a leg with New Haven sludgesters Sea of Bones, who also released something new last year (a split with Ramlord). Those two bands will land at Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus on August 9. All dates here.

KNOCKED LOOSE / ROTTING OUT / CANDY / SEEYOUSPACECOWBOY

Metallic hardcore unit Knocked Loose are supporting their upcoming album A Different Shade Of Blue on a headlining tour with a stacked lineup of support bands, including Candy whose set we heard was wild when they opened for Quicksand at Saint Vitus on Thursday night.

MONOLORD / HOLYWATER BLACKLIGHT

Swedish hard rock/doom band Monolord announced fall tour dates with support from Holywater Blacklight, ahead of their first album for Relapse later this year.

THE VARUKERS

UK punk veterans The Varukers announced US tour dates happening later this summer, in celebration of their 40th anniversary as a band.

FALLS OF RAUROS opening for SAOR/WAYFARER

Maine black metallers Falls of Rauros have been added to the upcoming Saor/Wayfarer tour (the former’s first tour in the US), ahead of the release of their anticipated new album Patters In Mythology.

CRO-MAGS

After Harley Flanagan got “exclusive ownership” to the Cro-Mags name, the band will release a new LP this year, and head out on tour this fall, including opening four Original Misfits reunion shows, and playing European dates with Red Death.

THE CALLOUS DAOBOYS

Rising Atlanta mathcore crew The Callous Daoboys released their new album Die On Mars last Friday and if you’re into stuff like The Dillinger Escape Plan and Botch, this is worth checking out. They’ve also got upcoming shows, including NJ, Long Island, and more.

MIZMOR / HELL

West Coast metal bands Mizmor and Hell have a long relationship and now they’re set to tour together this year, NYC show with Evoken included.

MORTICIAN

Yonkers deathgrind vets Mortician turned 30 this year, and they’re celebrating with anniversary shows on the East Coast. So far they’ve announced two: Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus on November 15 with Funerus, Sacrificial Blood, and Sick Bay; and Philly’s Voltage Lounge on November 16 with Malignancy, Limbsplitter, Chained to the Dead, and Hog Slammer. They’re also making their first California appearance since 2004 at California Deathfest in July (which is a West Coast exclusive).

BOYSETSFIRE

Delaware post-hardcore vets boysetsfire reunited back in 2010 and they’ve stayed very active, having released two albums and a few EPs/splits since then. They’re doing a 25th anniversary tour in Europe (including a German festival with Thursday), but first they’ll play NJ’s Crossroads on November 22. All dates here.

BRUTUS

Belgian punk/metal/pop/etc blenders Brutus are playing US shows in support of their excellent new LP Nest.

AGNOSTIC FRONT / PRONG

UK anarcho-punk vets Subhumans announced their first album in 12 years and they’ll tour North America surrounding its release.

ABUSE OF POWER

Abuse of Power’s What On Earth Can We Do (Triple B Records) is one of the year’s finest hardcore debut albums so far, and the Atlanta band have some upcoming shows in support of it. They’ll be in NYC to play The Kingsland on July 24 with Krust, Combust, Victory Garden, and The Answer; and they’re also playing NJ’s Back To School Jam, LA’s Sound and Fury, one of the Have Heart reunion shows, and more.

MARYLAND DEATHFEST 2020 ADDITIONS

MDF added Vio-lence, Cancer, Dark Fortress, Massacre, Cadaver, Impaled, Nunslaughter, Novembers Doom, Graveyard, Imprecation, and more.

INTO ANOTHER (CANCELLATIONS)

Post-hardcore vets Into Another unfortunately had to cancel their Ignaurus shows for medical reasons. They say, “We are postponing the announced shows in NY, PA and DC due to an unforeseen medical diagnosis and the necessity for timely treatment. In the near future we will elaborate. Please accept our profound and sincere apologies.”
