Higher Reeper

Metal tours announced: High Reeper, Mr. Bungle, 1349/Uada, Black Tusk/Child Bite, more

Tons of shows get announced every week, and it can be hard to keep up. Here are all the heavy music (metal, hardcore & more) tours, shows & fests that we posted on BV this week, and some new ones too…

HIGH REEPER

Philly stoners High Reeper released their second album of Sabbath worship, Higher Reeper, on Heavy Psych Sounds earlier this year, and now they’ve announced an East Coast tour in support of it. It includes a Brooklyn show on September 24 at Saint Vitus. All dates here.

MR. BUNGLE

Mr. Bungle are finally back for their first shows in nearly 20 years, and they will see original members Mike Patton, Trevor Dunn, and Trey Spruance joined by thrash legends Scott Ian (of Anthrax) and Dave Lombardo (ex-Slayer) to perform the songs off their thrashy 1986 demo The Raging Wrath Of The Easter Bunny for the first time in over 30 years. Read more about it here.

BLACK TUSK / CHILD BITE

This killer double-billed tour of heavy music goes down in November.

1349 / UADA

It’ll be double dose of high quality black metal when 1349 and Uada hit the road together this fall.

HEALTH / DAUGHTERS / SHOW ME THE BODY

Daughters and HEALTH, two bands who started out in noise rock but have since expanded their sounds in various ways, have announced a co-headlining fall tour with genre-defying hardcore band Show Me The Body along for the ride.

BRUTUS

Brutus’ genre-defying punk/metal/pop/etc hybrid Nest (out now on Sargent House) is one of the year’s best albums in any rock subgenre, and it was very exciting to recently learn that the Belgian band would be coming to the US for some shows and festivals this fall. They’ve since added more dates, including shows in Chicago, Somerville, and Philly, in addition to their previously announced dates in LA and NYC. They also play Levitation, Voodoo, and Dia De Los Deftones, and they tour Europe with Cult of Luna. All dates here. KING GIZZARD AND THE WIZARD LIZARD

Infest the Rat’s Nest, King Gizzard’s foray into thrash metal, is out today, and the band’s tour just got underway.

GHOSTEMANE with HARMS WAY, JESUS PIECE, CANDY, 3TEETH, more

The rap/rock crossover revival continues with this stacked tour that’s headlined by Ghostemane and features support from three killer hardcore bands (Harms Way, Jesus Piece, Candy), ’90s-industrial revivalists 3TEETH, former Lil Peep collaborator Lil Tracy, and more.

PIG DESTROYER

The great Pig Destroyer have some upcoming shows, including a just-announced two-night stand in Brooklyn where they’ll play different sets each night with different openers each night.

PHARMAKON

NYC noise artist Pharmakon has added a hometown release show to her tour supporting her upcoming album Devour.

SANCTION / QUEENSWAY / VATICAN / FUMING MOUTH

This four-band metallic hardcore bill hits the road this fall.

TOM MORELLO

Before heading out on his fall tour, Tom Morello is doing three nights off stories and music at Off-Broadway theater Minetta Lane. All dates and more info here.

THE CRAZY WORLD OF ARTHUR BROWN

Psychedelic rock legends The Crazy World of Arthur Brown perform on Friday at the 2019 edition of Psycho Las Vegas, and they have a couple more US dates after that too. They head to Austin on Saturday 8/17, then to NYC next week for a show at Le Poisson Rouge on August 22 (tickets). They also have a couple of shows booked for 2020 in the UK. See all dates here.

THE BODY & UNIFORM

The Body and Uniform’s collaborative album Everything That Dies Someday Comes Back, comes out tomorrow (8/16), and while they don’t have a joint tour currently scheduled in support of it, both bands have their own dates coming up. Uniform has dates with Boris, including Jersey City’s White Eagle Hall and Brooklyn’s Elsewhere. The Body have a few shows with longtime collaborators The Assembly of Light Choir, where they’ll do special collaborative sets. Those include Bell House on September 15 (tickets) and Basilica Soundscape.
