Metal tours announced: Opeth, GWAR, Cult of Luna, Warbringer/Enforcer, more

Tons of shows get announced every week, and it can be hard to keep up. Here are all the heavy music (metal, hardcore & more) tours, shows & fests that we posted on BV this week, and some new ones too…

WARBRINGER / ENFORCER

Two different types of classic heavy metal revivalists, California thrashers Warbringer and Swedish speed-metallers-who-recently-became-hair-metallers Enforcer (who have traded members over the years with Tribulation, both of whom were born from the ashes of Hazard), are on the road together now, hitting Brooklyn’s Kingsland tonight (10/4) and Queens’ Blackthorn 51 on Saturday (10/5). After that, they’re playing Pittsburgh, Richmond, Indianpolis, Atlanta, New Orleans, Austin, and more. All dates here. We recently caught the tour in Philly and you can see pictures and review on Invisible Oranges. Warbringer also recently put out the new single “Firepower Kills” and here’s the video:

EXHUMED / GATECREEPER / NECROT / JUDICIARY

Both Exhumed and Gatecreeper have new albums out today (read about them here and here), and their tour together — also with Necrot and Judiciary — is coming up before you know it. It kicks off in Austin on Halloween, and there are shows all across North America including one in Brooklyn. All dates here.

ORANSSI PAZUZU

Finnish psychedelic metal greats Oranssi Pazuzu were supposed to come to the US earlier this year for Psycho Las Vegas and a few pre-fest shows in California, but they had to cancel, and now they’re just about set to return for East Coast and West Coast tours, starting next week (10/10 in Chicago). All dates (including NYC’s LPR on 10/15) here.

SILVERTOMB

Silvertomb, the current band of Johnny Kelly (Type O Negative, Danzig) and Kenny Hickey (Type O Negative), are playing their first-ever headlining show at Saint Vitus on December 21. It’s their only upcoming date at the moment.

CARNIVORE AD

In sort of related news, Carnivore A.D. — featuring Marc Carnivore and Louie Beato of the late Peter Steele’s pre-Type O Negative band Carnivore — are playing a hometown one-off at The Kingsland on October 27. UPDATE: a tipster informed us that Marc and Louie no longer appear to be in the band, making Carnivore AD even more of a tribute act than they already were (though we have to admit — after watching YouTube videos — they are a good tribute band). The whole situation is kind of weird because we now also see other upcoming shows in Europe, and they all advertise it as the thing Marc and Louie were doing with the new singer, and there’s no official website or message from Marc anywhere. Marc (in a helmet) can be seen playing guitar in 2018, HERE. Video from more recent shows HERE and HERE and HERE.

CAR BOMB

And while we’re talking about hometown one-offs at The Kingsland, Brooklyn prog/tech metallers Car Bomb are celebrating their new album Mordial at The Kingsland on October 25 with Circuit of Suns, Titan to Tachyons, and Valence. If you haven’t yet, stream the album below and read our interview with the band on Invisible Oranges.

OPETH / GRAVEYARD

Swedish metal bands Opeth and Graveyard are teaming up to tour North America in 2020.

CULT OF LUNA / EMMA RUTH RUNDLE / INTRONAUT

Opeth/Graveyard isn’t enough Swedish metal for you? Cult of Luna also announced a 2020 North American tour today, with support from Emma Ruth Rundle and Intronaut.

GWAR

GWAR are on tour now and also just announced a run of holiday / New Year’s shows.

THE LOCUST

The Locust recently announced their first show in four years, an appearance at the Desert Daze festival, and they promised that more shows and new music would follow. Still no update on the new music, but the band added more tour dates happening in Dallas, San Antonio, Austin (on Halloween), and Denver.
