Disma at Union Pool last year (more by BBG)

The previously discussed August 6th mega-record release at Saint Vitus for Disma with Coffinworm, an exclusive east coast appearance from Loss, and Oak will be a whopper of a show, and now tickets are on sale. Get 'em while you can. Meanwhile, Disma's mammoth new LP Towards The Megalith is due via Profound Lore next week and you can stream one new track, "Purulent Quest", for the first time below!
Raw Nerve, who ripped it at Chaos in Tejas, will team with White Load and Brain Slug to play Acheron on 7/24. Raw Nerve have a new LP and EP available now at Youth Attack. Speaking of Youth Attack, Mark McCoy's band Failures will play 538 Johnson on 7/31 with Vaccine, Confines, and Salvation. McCoy's other band Veins played the venue last week with Ceremony.
Reminder, tonight (7/8) is the return of Sourvein (who blessed our 2009 Northside showcase) at Saint Vitus with Kings Destroy, Strong Intention, Pristina, and Night Bitch. Cannabis Corpse has unfortunately dropped off.
The Austerity Program has scheduled a late show at The Charleston on 7/20 with a "special surprise guest". No word on who exactly it is, but we have our suspicions...
Ramming Speed will team with Barn Burner and Natur for a show at Saint Vitus on 7/31 as part of a larger tour for the former two. Their tour dates are below.
More suggested shows and some classic video from Dystopia, Keelhaul, Diocletian, and Benumb is below. What did we miss?

Horseback

The inaugural Utech Festival went down over the weekend (on 6/11), in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It featured a deep lineup of bands that spanned the experimental, electronic, drone, noise, and ambient genres. The festival, spearheaded by the label of the same name, saw BV faves Horseback as headliners. Locrian (who produced the amazing The Crystal World) provided direct support, and the festival also featured Mamiffer, House of Low Culture (both of which contained Aaron turner of ex-Isis fame), James Plotkin, Jon Mueller, Gog, William Fowler Collins, Ural Umbo, RM74, and NYC's own Ithi. Pictures from the festival are in this post and continue below.
Horseback recently released The Gorgon Tongue via Relapse, a compilation of previous releases Impale Golden Horn and Forbidden Planet LPs into a single set. The band also recently posted a video for "Blood Fountain" which you can also watch below...

The Body performed with the Assembly of Light choir at Le Poisson Rouge early Saturday night (6/25). The band and choir alternated playing short sets, but also collaborated on songs like "Even The Saints Knew Their Hour Of Failure And Loss" which features a choir on record. You can check-out an example of The Body WITH the choir in the video below.
Work/Death opened the evening at LPR and the show was out by 9:20PM. The Indian/Bloodiest show at Union Pool saw multiple attendees that fit both in on one night, including photographer Greg Cristman whose Body shots continue below...

Agnostic Front @ Webster Hall

While I was checking out the brutality at Maryland Deathfest 2011 back in May (pictures from day 1 HERE, day 2 HERE, day 3 HERE, and day 4 HERE), NYC was keeping it brutal in their own way, with the 2011 edition of the Black & Blue Bowl. The show featured a headlining set from a reunited Gorilla Biscuits. We already posted those pictures, but there was also sets by Agnostic Front, Sick of It All, Terror, Absolution, Antidote, Maximum Penalty, Backtrack, Down To Nothing, No Turning Back, Take Offense, and Bottom Out. It was a serious bill for the NYHC faithful. More pictures and video from the mayhem lie below.
In semi-related news, Cro-Mags have a show coming up with Fucked Up at House of Vans. Cro-Mags played Bowery Ballroom on July 1st.
In more related news, Roger Miret (of Agnostic Front) will hit the road for a string of dates with Roger Miret and The Disasters. The week long trek is in support of the new LP Gotta Get Up Now and will include a stop at Trash Bar on August 19th. Full tour schedule is below.
Tickets are on sale now for Murphy's Law's annual Rocks Off Concert Cruise which takes place on August 10th. Hopefully they have more luck this year.
Shai Halud plays Party Xpo in Brooklyn TONIGHT (7/9) with Zombie Fight and many others.

First, let me take this opportunity to warn you to avoid, at all costs, the new Christmas album by 80's icon Aimee Mann. I took a quick listen. Not only is it dreadfully depressing, it adds nothing new to the already-too-large body of Holiday music covers. Perhaps there's a gem hidden on there - I just couldn't listen that far.
Second, I urge you to immediately seek out the brand new Christmas album by 80's icons Twisted Sister. The mashup of Brooklyn Jewish hair metal and schlocky Christmas songs is a work of genius, but don't take my word for it - just go STREAM THE WHOLE THING at their website. A quality stocking stuffer indeed.
Some Twisted Sister tour dates below....

The video you see above is for the song "Colony Of Birchmen" off Mastodon's newest album "Blood Mountain". Mastodon confirmed some February 2007 tour dates that include shows in NJ, PA, CT, and NY. Those dates below....
