Metallica release "Moth Into Flame" (watch the video)
Last month, Metallica released “Hardwired,” the lead single off their upcoming eleventh album, Hardwired… To Self-Destruct. At just over three minutes, it’s one of the band’s shortest songs ever, but we know the album is a double album with “nearly 80 minutes” of music across 12 songs, so surely it’s got some lengthier ones. Now one of those lengthier ones, the six-minute “Moth Into Flame,” is here with a video. It rotates between breakneck-speed thrash and more of a mid-tempo headbanger, and it’s got some pretty melodic soloing. Not bad at all for a Metallica song in 2016. Watch the video, directed by Tom Kirk (who does the live visuals for Muse), below.
If you’d like to read them, here are the lyrics for the new song.
Metallica just played the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park over the weekend, and they’ll play a VERY intimate NYC show at Webster Hall this Tuesday (9/27). The ticket lottery is now closed.
