Lorelle Meets The Obsolete

Mexican psych duo Lorelle Meets The Obsolete prep new EP, touring around SXSW

Guadalajara, Mexico’s Lorelle Meets The Obsolete have been making dark-hued psych that pulls from post-punk, krautrock and dreampop for the last decade. The duo released the terrific De Facto last year via shoegaze-friendly UK label Sonic Cathedral (stream it below) and will release a companion EP titled Re-Facto featuring new songs and remixes from Pye Corner Audio and more. We’ve got the premiere of the EP’s woozy, jagged lead track, “Fosas Limitadas,” which falls somewhere between Chairs Missing-era Wire and Broadcast. Watch the video for the song below.

The Re-Facto EP is out March 13 and Lorelle Meets The Obsolete will be heading to Austin for SXSW and will tour the U.S. and Canada around the festival, hitting both coasts and stops in between. Most of the tour is with Berlin’s gothy The Underground Youth, including the NYC stop at Rough Trade on March 9 (tickets).

All dates are listed, along with a stream of The Underground Youth’s 2017 album What Kind Of Dystopian Hellhole Is This?, below.
