MGMT release 'Little Dark Age' title track and its video

MGMT recently posted a teaser video for “Little Dark Age,” which is also the name of the title track/lead single off their upcoming album, which Zane Lowe just premiered. He also interviewed the band, who mentioned that they recorded the album with Chairlift’s Patrick Wimberly and Flaming Lips collaborator Dave Fridmann, and that Ariel Pink contributed to it too. They mentioned that they wanted to get back to writing fun, danceable songs. “Little Dark Age” is indeed more danceable than the stuff on their last album, but they haven’t lost their weird psychedelic side either.

They also said the album has 10 songs, one of which is “Me and Michael,” which they’ve also been playing live. They appear to be eyeing a 2018 release. Watch the video for “Little Dark Age” (directed by Nathaniel Axel & David MacNutt) below and listen to the Zane Lowe interview, below.
