SNL’s ‘Weekend Update’ hosts Michael Che and Colin Jost have decided to work a little during their vacations, hitting the fertile comic ground that is the Republican National Convention. (This explains why Che dropped off the Forest Hills Flight of the Conchords show.) They hosted a special Wednesday Night RNC edition of ‘Weekend Update’ last night (7/20) on MSNBC where the vibe was considerably looser than on ‘SNL’ and subjects included what you’d expect — Melania Trump, Chris Christie, Ted Cruz getting booed, scary Rudy Giuliani — and Kate McKinnon was on-hand to reprise her Ruth Bader Ginsburg impersonation. Video below.

There were also a couple filmed segments, including one that smartly combined the two things that are probably consuming your Twitter feed: the RNC and Pokemon Go. In it, Che plays “Trumpemon Go” where he hunts “the rarest creature of them all: minorities at the RNC.” You can watch that, along with a segment where Jost asks people outside the convention to identify Trump’s running mate, Mike Pence, from six pictures featuring other grey-haired, white men. Watch those below.

There will be another MSNBC edition of ‘Weekend Update’ from next week’s Democratic National Convention on July 27.
