Midge Ure going on acoustic tour in 2015 (dates)

by Bill Pearis

Alt-rock vet Midge Ure released a new solo album this year and participated in the ’80s-nostalgic Retro Futura tour, and has plans to return to North American for a headlining acoustic tour in the new year. Those dates include two nights at NYC’s Iridium Room on February 26 & 27. Tickets for those shows are on sale now. All dates are listed below.

While his bands Ultravox and Visage were never that popular in America, nearly everyone probably knows one of his songs — even if you didn’t realize it. He penned Band Aid‘s 1984 charity single “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” with Bob Geldof. That song, as you may know, was re-recorded with a new cast of voices, and a few lyrics updated, for its 30th anniversary. Midge appears on the new version as well and you can listen to that, if that’s what you want to do, below.
