Mike Frazier releasing 'Where The Valley Kissed The Sky' (stream a track)

Virginia’s Mike Frazier used to front the now-defunct pop punk band Random Holiday, but more recently he’s been making alt-country-ish music on his own, inspired by his deepest roots as a music fan. “I was raised on CCR, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young — The first time I remember registering music was my mom blasting John Fogerty in the garage,” he says. He’s a natural at this type of thing, and his punk background ever so slightly creeps into his new music but never dominates it. If you like other punk-gone-folk acts like Tim Barry, Chuck Ragan, and Lucero, you’ll probably dig this too. Get a taste from Mike’s new song “Stay The Same,” which premieres below.

“Stay The Same” will appear on Mike’s sophomore album, Where The Valley Kissed The Sky, which comes out May 31 via Geneva Records. Pre-orders will be available soon at this link, and a portion of the proceeds will go to The Heather Heyer Foundation, a scholarship fund “created to honor Heather Heyer, a young civil rights activist, who dedicated her life to promoting equal rights for all people.” The album was recorded with engineer Erik Romero (who’s also worked as an engineer for The Bouncing Souls, The Front Bottoms, The Gaslight Anthem and more).

Mike also has upcoming tour dates in Virginia, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Tennessee, all of which are listed below.
