Mike Ness, Glen Matlock & more played 'L.A.M.F.' tributes in NYC (pics, setlist)

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Johnny Thunders & the Heartbreakers‘ classic (and only) LP, 1977’s L.A.M.F. and to celebrate Heartbreakers member Walter Lure and Clem Burke of Blondie are playing some tribute shows. with Sex Pistols’ bassist Glen Matlock and Social Distortion’s Mike Ness. After two shows on Wednesday (11/29) at Bowery Electric, they hit Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg on 11/30. Jesse Malin opened the night and also sang lead on a few songs during the L.A.M.F. tribute. Ness, Matlock, Lure and Burke all took lead on at least one song and in addition to the album in full, they also played some related material like Johnny Thunders’ “You Can’t Put Your Arms Around a Memory.”

Following the NYC shows, they headed to the West Coast for shows in Los Angeles (12/1), San Diego (12/3) and they do it in San Francisco tonight (12/4). Check out pics from the Brooklyn show in the gallery above and the setlist and a few videos from the Bowery Electric show are below.
