Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, and Dead Cross frontman Mike Patton has written the theme music for AMC’s upcoming series adaptation of Joe Hill’s acclaimed supernatural horror novel, NOS4A2. “This is true,” Joe tweeted. “Mike Patton slays.” Having previously worked on Netflix’s adaptation of Stephen King’s 1922, Patton was originally supposed to have done the score for the whole series but, according to FaithNoMoreFollowers.com, he only ended up doing the main title theme and the music for the premiere episode. If you’re unfamiliar with NOS4A2 (pronounced “Nosferatu,” like the classic horror film), here’s the AMC synopsis:

NOS4A2 tells the story of Charlie Manx, a seductive immortal who feeds off the souls of children, then deposits what remains of them into Christmasland – an icy, twisted Christmas village of Manx’s imagination where every day is Christmas Day and unhappiness is against the law. Manx finds his whole world threatened when a young woman in New England discovers she has a dangerous gift.

The book is a hefty 600+ page tour de force of expertly executed horror, delving into scares of the psychological and gross-out sorts; Joe does his father, horror master Stephen King, proud in following in his footsteps.

NOS4A2 stars Zachary Quinto as Manx, alongside Ashleigh Cummings, Olafur Darri Olafsson, Virginia Kull, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and was created by Jami O’Brien who previously worked on the AMC series Fear of the Walking Dead and Hell on Wheels. (Joe Hill is an executive producer.) NOS4A2 premieres Sunday, June 2 and you can watch the trailer below.
