Mild High Club releasing 'Skiptracing' (listen), touring

Mild High Club will release their new album, Skiptracing, on August 26 via Stones Throw. Main club member Alexander Brettin further explores the mellow underbelly of the musical world, while applying it to a concept album motif of a “private investigator attempting to trace the steps of the sound and the spirit of American music.” Whether you follow the plot or not, the music — owling to various boat shoe-wearing bands of the late ’70s — is pretty groovy. (Ariel Pink and The High Llamas chilling on the beach with the Doobie Brothers in San Diego? Kinda.) Check out the video for Skiptracing‘s title track and listen to album cut “Homage” below.

Having played 4Knots Fest back in July, Mild High Club will be on tour starting this month, hitting NYC on September 14 at Baby’s All Right with Cut Worms and Lord Youth. Tickets are on sale. All dates are listed below.
