Mitski announces tour, rates Drake who played MSG again

Mitski is continuing her breakout year, announcing today that she’s following up her recently-completed tour with another run of dates. We already mentioned that she’s playing NYC again, as she’ll be hitting Webster Hall on November 21. Now the full run of dates around that has been announced, kicking off in Boston at the beginning of November and winding up and down the east coast before that NYC show, which closes the tour. All those dates are listed below. Tickets for that Webster Hall show are still on sale.

Meanwhile, Mitski was just featured on an episode of Pitchfork’s over/under, in which she held forth on such topics as Young Thug, Mariah Carey, cats, man buns, and everyone’s boy Drake, about whom her take struck me as particularly astute. She said that “Drake thinks he’s underrated, and no amount of love that we show him will convince him otherwise.” Touche, Mitski.

Drake continues to show and receive love in NYC, as his massive MSG run with Future ran through the weekend. Via radio.com:

From the moment Drake came up from under the stage, the rest of the night seemed as if it was out of a movie. He opened up with his hit single “Summer Sixteen” and from there on, there wasn’t a single person in their seats. The sold out crowd at MSG was with him, 100%, for every song of his set. The third night of a four night sold out stand at MSG was loud, and electric. Anyone could have went solo to the spectacle and ended up being friends with their entire row.

Special guest J. Cole came out during Sunday night’s show.

While the MSG run is now concluded, that tour will continue to chug along for pretty much the rest of the year. They’ll be back in NYC for two shows at Barclays Center (October 11/12) and two more in NJ at Newark’s Prudential Center (October 15/16). Tickets for those shows are still on sale.
