Mitski responds to “completely false” allegation of child sex trafficking and abuse

Mitski, who left social media earlier this year, returned to Twitter today to respond to a person who made allegations of child sex trafficking and abuse against her on Tumblr. She wrote that the allegations are “completely false in every respect,” and then said, “I don’t know the accuser, and I don’t know how or why they have come to associate me with their trauma. I have not ever been part of sex trafficking or child abuse in any form.” She later added, “there is clear and overwhelming evidence that [the allegations] are unfounded, that is easily corroborated many times over.” Here’s her full statement:

The two upcoming Central Park shows on Mitski’s tour are her “last shows indefinitely,” but she isn’t quitting music, just taking a break.
