Mizmor prepping ‘Cairn,’ touring with Hell (including NYC w/ Evoken)

Hell Mizmor

Black/drone metal act Mizmor (aka מזמור) and sludge/doom act Hell have a long-running relationship that includes a 2014 split together (and main Mizmor member A.L.N. has contributed to Hell in the past). They’ve now announced a US tour (and a Netherlands festival) together, and though Mizmor has played shows before, A.L.N. says this is the project’s first-ever tour:

I am extremely excited to announce that Mizmor will be going on tour for the first time ever. It’s been seven years now, slowly building up the project into new territories, with 2016 seeing our first live performance. Since then we have played a handful more one-off performances. The project has been around long enough and affected enough people now that I have felt the pull to go on tour in a real way. And with “Cairn” on the horizon, it is the perfect time to start a new chapter. It is only natural for us to be on the road with Hell as the two bands are a close-knit family; we share two members and the six of us all grew up together.

As A.L.N. reveals in that quote, the new Mizmor album Cairn is on the way (you can see an album teaser below).

UPDATE: Cairn comes out September 6 via Gilead Media (pre-order). Artwork and tracklist below.

The tour includes a Brooklyn show on September 30 at Saint Vitus with NJ’s Evoken headlining (tickets). All dates are listed below.

Evoken are also playing Stardust VII: Vado Mori at Brooklyn Bazaar (July 4 & 5). They play day two with Dead Congregation, The Ruins of Beverast, and more (tickets). Day one includes Dispirit, Lord Mantis, Ruin Lust, Wolvhammer, and more (tickets). Evoken also play Decibel Metal & Beer Fest in LA in December.

Listen to Hell’s latest album (2017’s Hell) and Mizmor’s live album of the band performing 2016’s Yodh at Roadburn 2018, below.
