Moby played 1st of 2 Rough Trade shows & 'Colbert' (pics, setlist, video)

Moby played his first of two intimate NYC release shows for new album Everything Was Beautiful and Nothing Hurt at Rough Trade on Tuesday night (3/20). The nearly two-hour show featured a number of songs from the new album, including “This Wild Darkness” which Moby had performed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert the night before. There were lots of Moby classics, too, including “Go,” “Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?,” “Natural Blues,” “We Are All Made of Stars,” and “Porcelain,” as well as a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love.” Moby finished the night with gentle lullaby “Almost Home” which he said was technically an encore but without the necessity of participating in the pantomime of leaving and returning to the stage.

Before the show, Moby signed copies of the new album and talked to fans. Pictures from the whole night are in the gallery above, and the setlist, plus video of him playing “Dark Cloud” at Rough Trade and “This Wild Darkness” on Colbert are below.

Moby plays Rough Trade tonight (3/21) which is still on despite the Nor’Easter that’s hit NYC.
