Modern Baseball @ Saint Vitus – 2/15/15
Philly pop-punk sweethearts Modern Baseball came to NYC Sunday night (2/15) for a release show in support of their 6-way split, Strength in Weakness with split contributors Spraynard, Marietta, The Weaks and Hurry, who were added to the show since we last spoke. Unfortunately they went on right at doors and we missed them. Pictures of the other bands from the show are in this post. All proceeds from both release shows and the split benefit United Cerebral Palsy.
Modern Baseball’s debut, Sports, also just received its fifth pressing via Lame-O Records. The album was Lame-O’s first release and has been sold out since early 2014, but is now back with a 2,000 copy run. The label is also putting out Techniques, a Modern Baseball demo/one-off compilation, alongside the repressing and making the two available as a bundle.
In other news, Spraynard recently signed to Jade Tree and are planning to release a new full length on the label this year.
If you missed seeing MoBo, Spraynard and The Weaks at Saint Vitus, all three will be coming back soon for Skate & Surf Fest, as will fellow Strength in Weakness contributors Beach Slang. Tickets are still available.
